SUNRISE ON EASTER MORNING
Local Hike Series April Meet-up
After watching the sunrise from Piney Hill, we will hike the Pine Warbler Trail down into Copperas Creek, then back up via the Piney Hill Spur (~1.0 miles total)
This will be a family-friendly dayhike on an easy trail. Please bring your own snacks and water.
Cost: Must pay day use fee at park office
NOTE: Because meet-up time is prior to Park Office hours, you will need to use the self-check in kiosk and pay with CASH or a TX State Park Pass
Adults – $5
Child (12 years & under) – Free
Free entry for everyone in your vehicle with a TX State Parks Pass

“McKinney Roughs Nature Park is a 1,100-acre nature park along the Colorado River welcoming adventure seekers to explore the variety of activities offered. A multiuse trail system of up to 18 miles of trails through the Lost Pines is available to hikers, mountain bikers and equestrian users. Visitors can enjoy guided group activities such as team building, challenge course obstacles, kayaking and river rafting trips, and UTV tours to observe the native flora and fauna in the area.”

Parking —> River Overlook —> Pecan Bottoms —> Return to parking
Moderate Challenge: This will be more strenuous than most of our family-friendly hikes. It may be a tough challenge for young children.
